Chemical & Gas Respirators

BSiF LogoChemical and gas respirators are necessary pieces of PPE safety workwear if you work in environments that deal with either of those two hazards. Workers in laboratories, factories, foundries, utilities, and all manner of other occupations face these issues every day and all are protected by powerful chemical and gas respirators that filter out the dangerous chemicals, leaving clean and fresh air for them to breathe as they work their shifts. Each of the respirators meets the required European standards for the situation in which they are used and you can find out more at the individual product page.

There are a number of considerations to make when you use chemical and gas respirators. They must be well maintained in order to work to their full potential. This means changing filters regularly and ensuring everything is in fully working order before you use it. The potential damage you can do to yourself when exposed to chemicals or gas means you have to be able to rely on your respirator.

In addition, you need to fit it snugly over your mouth and nose for it to be effective. Chemical and gas respirators are all adjustable so you can play around before you set foot into the contaminated area in order to get the fit correct. Straps are designed to be comfortable to wear, as are the elements of the respirator that touch your face so you can wear the item for a long shift and not become distracted or irritated by it.

As well as use for workplaces that handle chemicals and gases, you can use these respirators for spraying crops, painting, and a host of other activities where you need protection from the particles in the air that can cause lasting damage through prolonged exposure to them. Find out more about each respirator in the individual product description.
