Railway Spec Trousers

Railway spec trousers are those that pass the safety standards required to be worn when carrying out work on the railways. Whether you work on live lines in between passing trains or you take to the tracks or lineside for your duties on stretches after they have finished, you need to wear special orange high visibility attire that has been subjected to the correct tests. Part of your workwear could include railway spec trousers that are tough, comfortable, and, most important of all, protective while you work. Take a look at the selection of railway spec trousers available at Xamax.

    Railway Spec Trousers

When you work anywhere near railways, at any point in the day, it is vital that you can be seen. Either by drivers of trains, those operating other vehicles, colleagues using machinery, members of the public, and anyone else that needs to know you are there to have the best possible chance of avoiding accidents. This is where the bright orange fluorescent colouring of railway spec trousers comes in. Additionally, the reflective tape strips bounce back the light from external sources so that you can be more visible even in low light and gloom.

Your railway spec trousers will usually be waterproof, helping you to keep dry on site during your shift. They will also generally feature taped seams that add an extra barrier to protect against the rain and storm flaps on any openings so that there are no weak points in the armour. The bottom of the legs are often cuffed with elastic or a stud fastening to keep the cold from seeping in.

You will generally find a good amount of storage in railway spec trousers, including large pockets for tools and smaller secure pockets for items like mobile phones. You may even have access to your regular clothes through the pockets if you wear railway spec trousers as an additional layer on top.
