Hi-Vis Headwear

High visibility headwear is the ideal accessory to your safety workwear, allowing you to be seen more easily on site whilst also protecting yourself from the cold, the sun, the rain, and any other weather conditions that plague outside workers. There are a variety of different types of hi vis headwear, all providing excellent visibility even in low-light situations, and combining with PPE clothing to make you as safe as possible. In addition, runners, cyclists, and school children can benefit from wearing high visibility headwear whilst out on the streets in the gloomy autumn and winter weather.

Further Information on Hi-Vis Headwear

If you work in a location that requires high visibility workwear, you know that the ability to be seen by your colleagues is key to everyone’s safety on site. You will already undoubtedly have the hi-vis jackets, trousers, and t-shirts, but it is also beneficial to add high visibility headwear to your working wardrobe.

In winter months, this might include a hi-vis beanie, many of which can be worn alone or underneath safety hats. They often contain a Thinsulate lining that keeps the warmth in and makes your working day a more comfortable experience. There are hi-vis baseball caps that shade your eyes and protect your face from the sun’s rays whilst you go about your work. In addition to the bright yellow or orange colouring, these can also feature reflective strips for added awareness on a busy site.

In addition, there are soft, wide brimmed hi-vis sun hats, which fold more easily and are therefore more convenient for transporting around when you go indoors or the sun goes in. You can slip them into your pocket until you next need their protection. Another type of high visibility headwear is a visor for a hard hat, many of which also feature a drape at the back to keep the sun off your neck during your shift.

You should also look out for hi vis waterproof hats, which repel the rain when you are working outside and the clouds break.
